At times, a riding mower or tractor blades out of balance, bent or blunt, and I have to either repair or replacement. It is recommended that the maintenance performed on the blades at least twice a year. Caring for a rider lawn blades, proceed as follows.
NOTE: These materials are intended for use by skilled technicians who are willing to service and repair of equipment of this type in this work are known, and are notfor use by untrained and inexperienced. These people should get help from a technician or dealer.
Preparation
As in many projects, I think safety first. Always wear heavy leather gloves and goggles / eye protection and always disconnect both the negative battery cable from the negative terminal of the battery and spark plug wire from spark plug. If the device is equipped with a two-cylinder engine, remove the spark plug isWires by candles.
Removing the blade
Most riders have removable blades. To get the blades, remove the cover before the service. DO NOT tip the mower on its side. This can cause serious damage to the device. Remove the guide blade mower blade turning the screws or bolts, with a standard length key counterclockwise. Do not be surprised if the blade is to remove the screw or nut has caused seriousnormal corrosion, scale-up and initial torque of 70 ft to 100 pounds.
Sharpen blades
Sharpen the blade riding lawn tractor with a tool such as a file by hand, which are designed for use on hard metals. It is not necessary that the blade is sharp as a knife. One advantage is about 45 degrees will be sufficient. Most will wear at the tip of the blade. Concentrate on this area. If the blade is worn or cut a lot to repair, replaceBlade. Follow the above procedure for all blades.
Balancing blades
Before installing a new blade or sharp, it is important that the blade is balanced. If a blade is not balanced properly, it will rattle and vibrate. This will damage the other components of the mower. Blade balancing tools can be purchased at a local shop for a reasonable price. Clean all dirt and debris from the blade. If the blade is not cleaned thoroughly it is in the balancethe blade.
There are two methods to control the balance of a blade, which we call, in this publication. The first is when the vertical test method, rotate the blade on his own free-hanging, heavy side down. The horizontal test method is the second thing is that when one side of the blade begins to drop toward the table. The side you fall on the table or along the side heavier, and requires further refinement, or to compensate for material removedBlade. After sharpening the blade balance test again and repeat until the blade is balanced. Follow the procedure described above for the remaining blades.
The installation of blades
Once the blade has been sharpened and balanced, you install it in the correct orientation. If you are an OEM blade that has the "bottom" to the printed word on the blade side that should face the floor. If the "low" does not exist, make sure that the blade increases with the tips toward the tip to install the bridge. TheBolt or nut must be tightened to 70 ft to 100 pounds. Couple.
